We are currently seeking a Senior Commercial Manager for our Packed Products division to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our sales team adheres to legal standards and Group policies regarding safety and business ethics.

Key Responsibilities

In this influential position, you will:

  • Be accountable for the compliance of the Specialist Products sales team with legal and Group standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Packed Products Director to formulate and execute a sales strategy, aiming to meet and exceed sales targets for both new and existing clients.
  • Foster a culture of safety and health within the team.
  • Generate and implement innovative sales growth strategies based on thorough market analysis.
  • Represent Tarmac at industry events, ensuring strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate sales success.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the sales teams, promoting a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

This role demands a seasoned and ambitious commercial manager. You will:

  • Achieve sales targets aligned with the Specialist Products strategy.
  • Enhance the capabilities of both internal and external sales teams.
  • Support brand marketing initiatives to drive sales success.
  • Ensure all trading agreements comply with legal standards.

Sales and Service Development

You will:

  • Contribute to and shape the sales strategy.
  • Establish processes for partnerships and order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with Technical Sales Managers to develop account plans for priority clients.
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts as necessary.

Strategic Planning & Pricing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development of Specialist Products sales forecasts.
  • Recommending and executing pricing strategies for Specialist Products.

Technical Sales Support

You will work with technical teams to:

  • Enhance the technical knowledge of sales teams.
  • Achieve price growth that outpaces inflation.
  • Utilize teams to support sales opportunities and manage associated risks.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • A degree is preferred but not essential; equivalent experience is valued.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in managing complex negotiations with key stakeholders in the building materials sector.
  • A successful track record in leading and developing sales teams.
  • Experience in project management and crafting compelling sales propositions.
  • Innovative mindset focused on enhancing profitability.
  • Ability to implement and manage change effectively.
