We are seeking a Design Manager to enhance our operations within the Kier Group.

Location: Flexible working options available

Contract: Permanent

Our division focused on Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks plays a crucial role in shaping the built environment, ensuring connectivity for communities and businesses alike. In this capacity, you will oversee the development of technically sound, cost-efficient, and environmentally responsible solutions during the pre-construction phase, aligning with the Client's objectives and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Design Manager, your role will involve collaborating with the Kier Group team to deliver optimal design solutions that fulfill performance and scheduling requirements for various projects.

Daily Activities:

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the technical approval and consents processes essential for project delivery.
  • Ensuring adherence to CDM Regulations 2015 while promoting health and safety in design practices.
  • Leading and guiding the design team to meet project objectives concerning time, cost, quality, and safety.
  • Overseeing project budgets, forecasting design expenses, and fostering efficiency through innovative design practices.
  • Building trust with Clients by providing timely updates, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with specific delivery protocols.

Candidate Profile:

This Design Manager position is ideal for you if:

  • You possess a degree-level engineering qualification and ideally hold CSCS accreditation or are willing to obtain it.
  • You have a valid UK driving license and are open to traveling for site visits and Client meetings as necessary.
  • You have a solid understanding of design principles within the water sector and are familiar with Client standards and regulations.
