Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom Respect Full time

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Merseyside Regional Lead: Child to Parent Abuse Prevention Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to galvanize the response to Child or Adolescent to Parent Violence or Abuse (CAPVA) within the Merseyside area.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, training, and supporting professionals to recognize and respond to CAPVA. This will involve engaging with a variety of professionals who work across services dedicated to children and young people, including health, education, early help, and children's services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map and coordinate current CAPVA interventions to identify systemic gaps in provision
  • Develop and build a delivery plan focusing on identified gaps, building on current provision and providing training in identified areas of need
  • Bring together the insights of service users, practitioners, specialist organizations, and researchers to build solutions
  • Work to remove barriers families face in accessing support by ensuring that staff in universal services can recognize and respond to CAPVA
  • Reduce the stigma and shame associated with CAPVA and ensure that parents can reach out in confidence that they will be listened to and supported

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a background of working with young people who harm and training experience. A non-judgmental approach is essential. Extensive CAPVA knowledge is not required as full training will be given.

What We Offer

We welcome applications from people from a wide range of backgrounds and across all protected characteristics. We are particularly interested in hearing from people from under-represented groups on our staff team, including Black and minoritized people and disabled people.

We would also warmly welcome an informal chat about the role if you are interested but unsure whether you meet the requirements or would be suitable.
