Job Description

Job Title: Domestic Abuse Worker

Reports to: Director

Salary: £27,344 FTE (NJC Scale 6, point 18)

Actual Salary: £14,583.47

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week, over 3 days, including evening work

Holidays: 24 days pro rata per year, plus public holidays

Pension: 5% employer contribution, 3% employee contribution

Contract Type: Fixed-term, 12 months from start date, subject to funding

Main Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, practical, and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and abuse (DVA), including crisis intervention, through face-to-face and telephone support.
  • Develop individual support plans that address risk of harm and offer information, advocacy, and signposting to survivors on a risk/need-led basis.
  • Support and empower survivors, increasing self-esteem and reducing isolation.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required.

Requirements:

  • Hold an IDVA qualification.
  • Ability to work with diverse client groups, including women from Black, Asian, or other ethnic minority communities, those with disabilities, and long-term health conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
