Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Violence Specialist to join our team at Local Solutions. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a service to those at highest risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment and Intervention
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments of domestic abuse victims using evidence-based tools and strategies.
    • Develop and implement personalized safety plans to reduce risk and promote victim empowerment.
  • Advocacy and Support
    • Provide emotional and practical support to high-risk victims, including advocacy and information on legal options, housing, health, and finance.
    • Collaborate with key agency partners to ensure coordinated safety plans and effective service delivery.
  • Case Management and Coordination
    • Manage a caseload of high-risk victims, ensuring each receives tailored support and services.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements, informed by client feedback and experiences.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration
    • Participate in multi-agency meetings, including the MARAC and SDVC, to ensure effective coordination and response to domestic abuse.
    • Represent Local Solutions at local and national events, delivering training and presentations as required.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Relevant experience and/or qualifications in areas around domestic violence.
    • Knowledge and practical experience of using IT systems.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Resilient and robust with a positive outlook.
    • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
