Position Overview

This role is crucial for ensuring the financial integrity and regulatory adherence of Northern Marine. The successful candidate will provide support to the Head of Group Financial Compliance and collaborate closely with the Finance department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Group authorization instructions matrix and conduct an annual assessment.
  • Lead and coordinate Agresso Controls meetings, ensuring follow-up on all action items.
  • Independently establish new banking relationships as required by the organization.
  • Conduct a yearly review of finance, procurement, and accounts payable processes, collaborating with document owners to enhance documentation quality.
  • Serve as the primary contact for modifications to existing finance documentation and create an efficient change management process.
  • Identify deficiencies in current documentation and propose improvements to strengthen finance operations.
  • Assist in the formation of new entities as needed, including subsidiary registration, VAT registration, and related tasks.
  • Participate in debtors meetings alongside the Head of Financial Compliance, taking responsibility for minutes and action items, and provide consolidated debtor reports for senior management.
  • Support the management and reporting of the Group's working capital, including cash flows, inventory policies, and cash analysis.
  • Ensure the continuous enhancement, auditing, and compliance of key finance documentation managed within the Quality Management System.
  • Assist in overseeing external audits for UK entities.
  • Provide evidence for various audits (ISO, Client audits, SOC audits, Internal audits) and take ownership of specific audit areas.
  • Support ad hoc information requests and projects from the finance team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and company directors.
  • Oversee monthly pension submissions, HMRC payments, and payroll costings for the UK company.
  • Assist in annual tax compliance, including the submission of corporation tax returns.
  • Prepare P11D forms and annual PSA for each PAYE reference.
  • Lead project-based initiatives, ensuring teams remain focused on clear deadlines and objectives.
  • Occasionally assist the finance team with AARO reporting to align with parent company goals.

Additional tasks may be assigned as deemed relevant to this position.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS).
