Global Banking - Operations Executive

Overview

We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity to join Clevelcrossing as our Global Banking Operations Executive. This pivotal role will collaborate with the Global Banking Practice Leaders to fulfill the strategic objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a vital member of the Global Banking leadership team, spearheading the formulation and execution of the Global Banking Strategy. Identifying and prioritizing key issues for the Co-leaders of Global Banking.
  • Delivering comprehensive analysis and consistent financial oversight to the Co-leaders of Global Banking, pinpointing areas for enhancement as well as potential concerns, and recommending necessary actions to address these.
  • Evaluating the budgets and investment proposals submitted by the Banking divisions worldwide and providing constructive feedback to the Co-leaders of Global Banking and the Finance team.
  • Preparing and reviewing business cases for lateral partner proposals and financial forecasts for proposed partner promotions and equity advancements.
  • Offering guidance on equity planning, allocation of discretionary points, and management within the broader Banking practice.
  • Overseeing the global Banking partner compensation framework, including advising on proposals, drafting communications, and reviewing and moderating proposals across other practice groups for consistency in collaboration with other Operations Executives.
  • Facilitating the partner review process globally, providing financial insights and preparing minutes for review meetings.
  • Assisting in the preparation of internal Banking partner candidates for the firm's partnership selection process on topics such as financial metrics, billing practices, staff retention, staff development, conflicts, client selection, equity models, and diversity initiatives.
  • Leading significant strategic initiatives for the Global Banking practice and coordinating Banking involvement in firmwide projects.
  • Organizing the annual Global Banking Partners conference, contributing ideas for agenda topics, speakers, and breakout sessions, and planning and managing the event logistics.
  • Coordinating the Banking pro bono strategy and promoting increased engagement in legal pro bono and community affairs.
  • Supervising the formal resource allocation team and driving enhancements in resource distribution across Banking.
  • Proactively sharing knowledge and regularly presenting on financial data, profitability, and pricing strategies; including centrally organized Associate training sessions.

Management Role in Banking

  • Ensuring that the objectives of the Banking division align with the Global Banking Strategy.
  • Enforcing financial discipline among partners and the broader practice, ensuring billing targets are achieved, collections are timely, and outstanding debts are pursued.
  • Providing relevant and clear financial insights to partners, highlighting areas of concern and recommending actions for improvement.
  • Driving the Investment Planning process within the Banking division.
  • Supporting partners facing challenges in resource management.
  • Leading the budgeting process for the Banking division.
  • Acting as the Business Continuity Plan owner for the Banking division, leading a team to implement recovery coordination.
  • Reviewing office space requirements for the practice and collaborating with Business Services to ensure efficient utilization of our resources.
  • Working with HR to support the moderation of associate performance and bonus modeling for Banking.
  • Leading the support team for the Banking division and ensuring coordination between Finance, Business Development, HR, IT, and the Group Manager.

Broader Involvement in the Organization

  • Taking a lead role in firmwide initiatives such as the recruitment of lateral partners and the establishment of new offices.
  • As a senior member of support staff, actively participating in firm programs such as the Emerging Leaders development workshops and supporting staff development initiatives.
  • Documenting minutes during firmwide lateral partner interviews.
  • As needed, leading other firm projects that require senior leadership support.
