Global Banking - Chief Operating Officer

We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity to join Clevelcrossing as our Global Banking Operations Executive.

This position will collaborate with the Global Banking Practice Partners to fulfill the strategic objectives of the organization.

As a vital member of the Global Banking management team, you will take a leading role in the formulation and execution of the Global Banking Strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and prioritizing key issues for the Co-heads of Global Banking.
  • Delivering comprehensive analysis and consistent financial oversight to the Co-heads, pinpointing areas for enhancement and concern, and recommending necessary actions.
  • Evaluating budgets and investment proposals from Banking groups worldwide, providing constructive feedback to the Co-heads and the Group Finance team.
  • Preparing and reviewing business cases for partner proposals and financial forecasts related to partner promotions and equity progression.
  • Offering guidance on equity planning, discretionary point allocation, and management within the broader Banking practice.
  • Overseeing the global Banking partner compensation process, including advising on proposals, drafting memos, and ensuring consistency across practice groups in collaboration with other COOs.
  • Supporting the global partner review process by providing financial analysis and preparing meeting documentation.
  • Assisting internal Banking partner candidates in preparing for the partnership selection process, covering topics such as financial metrics, billing practices, staff retention, development, conflicts, client selection, equity models, and diversity.
  • Leading significant strategic initiatives for the Global Banking practice and coordinating Banking's involvement in firmwide projects.
  • Organizing the annual Global Banking Partners meeting, contributing ideas for agenda topics, speakers, breakout sessions, and managing the event logistics.
  • Coordinating the Banking pro bono strategy and promoting increased engagement in legal pro bono and community affairs.
  • Supervising the formal resource allocation team and driving enhancements in resource distribution across Banking.

Management Role in London Banking

Ensure that the objectives of London Banking align with the Global Banking Strategy.

Maintain financial discipline among partners and the broader practice, ensuring billing targets are achieved, collections are prompt, and overdue debts are addressed.

Provide relevant and clear financial insights to partners, highlighting areas of concern and recommending actions for improvement.

Drive the Investment Planning process within London Banking.

Support partners facing challenges in resource management.

Lead the budgeting process for London Banking.

Act as the Business Continuity Plan owner for London Banking, leading a team to implement recovery coordination.

Review office space requirements for the practice and collaborate with Business Services to ensure efficient space utilization.

Work with HR to facilitate the moderation of associate performance and bonus modeling for Banking.

Lead the support team for London Banking, ensuring effective coordination between Finance, Business Development, HR, IT, and the Group Manager.

As a senior member of the support staff, actively participate in firm programs such as Emerging Leaders development workshops and support staff development initiatives.

As needed, lead other firm projects requiring senior support leadership.
