The Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Engineering team plays a crucial role in delivering liquidity and execution services for institutional clients worldwide, serving as vital revenue contributors for the firm. By leveraging a combination of open-source industry standards and proprietary technologies, FICC Engineering develops state-of-the-art platforms for transaction pricing, execution, and monitoring, managing millions of transactions.

Candidate Profile

The FICC Systematic Market Making (SMM) team enhances the firm's electronic market-making and algorithmic trade execution capabilities. As a member of the SMM Engineering team, the SMM Production Engineering group collaborates with SMM Trading to develop and maintain pricing and execution services for the firm and its clients. This team, consisting of application developers and technical support specialists, focuses primarily on site reliability engineering, which includes driving automation, improving real-time monitoring, developing performance metrics, and managing the release and deployment cycle.

This role places you at the heart of our electronic trading operations. Technical support specialists are essential in ensuring the seamless functioning of electronic trading systems and the trading desk on a daily basis. Collaborating closely with Trading & Sales business users, the team is expected to deliver operational and technical support for SMM applications and infrastructure to both external clients and internal business users. Furthermore, you will be tasked with monitoring all aspects of the production system to identify and resolve operational issues, evaluate the risks associated with system changes, and provide recommendations for system support enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage operational risks within a complex, dynamic multi-asset electronic trading environment.
  • Collaborate with software and infrastructure teams to address software and hardware challenges.
  • Engage extensively with the FICC front office for business operations.
  • Oversee incident and crisis management.
  • Participate in system design consultations, platform management, and capacity planning.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Quick learner of new systems and technologies.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
