Position Overview

Antares is seeking a knowledgeable Global Tax Strategy Lead to join our dynamic Tax team. This pivotal position will assist the Head of Tax in providing tax advisory and compliance services across the Antares Global Group, encompassing Corporate Income Taxes, Transfer Pricing, and various tax regulations. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage in several high-profile initiatives within the organization.

Essential Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Professional qualification in Taxation or Accounting (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Comprehensive understanding of direct and indirect taxation, including VAT
  • Experience in managing a diverse range of tax matters within either a professional services environment or the Financial Services sector
  • Preferred background in Lloyd's insurance
  • International tax knowledge, including Controlled Foreign Companies (CFCs), Diverted Profits Tax (DPT), withholding taxes, and transfer pricing
  • A collaborative team player
  • Proactive approach with a proven track record of meeting deadlines while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts clearly
  • Strategic thinker with the capability to analyze and present findings effectively
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with MS Excel

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and review the completion of income tax returns (outsourced), including all related analyses and support
  • Manage and review tax returns for the Group's international subsidiaries
  • Prepare and review accurate current and deferred tax calculations and disclosures for quarterly and statutory Corporate income tax reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Supervise and review Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) and withholding tax matters, coordinating with external advisors as necessary for both UK and international subsidiaries
  • Assist the Head of Tax with inquiries related to the tax function for Antares Global, covering various tax types
  • Support tax-related projects, including:
    • Tax implications of mergers and acquisitions and group restructuring
    • Implementation of Bermuda Corporate Income Tax
    • Planning and execution of OECD Pillar 2 minimum tax requirements across group entities
  • Manage tax projects as directed by the Head of Tax
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed
  • Assist the Head of Tax in developing robust systems, policies, and procedures to ensure effective management of the group's tax obligations
  • Support the group's capital and operational structure, focusing on transfer pricing, DPT, and cost allocation, while maintaining necessary documentation and policies
  • Provide tax insights to the Transformation team for the planning and implementation of new financial systems
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor quarterly tax payments for UK and select international subsidiaries
  • Continuously seek to enhance practices and procedures within the area of responsibility, ensuring a strong control environment
