Job Description

Stanton House is seeking a seasoned Tax professional to lead our Global Tax function. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive global tax strategy that supports our business goals and optimises tax efficiency across all operating jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement Global Tax Strategy: Design and execute a tax strategy that aligns with our business objectives and ensures compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  2. Manage Tax Risks: Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  3. Provide Strategic Tax Planning Advice: Offer expert tax planning advice to senior leadership on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and other corporate transactions.
  4. Oversee Global Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and related documentation across 66 countries.
  5. Lead Tax Team: Lead and develop a global tax team, including 5 direct reports and 20 indirect reports, ensuring they are equipped to manage tax matters across different regions effectively.
  6. Foster Collaborative Culture: Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the tax team, promoting continuous learning and development.
  7. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decision-making processes.
  8. Act as Primary Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for tax matters with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.
  9. Provide Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to regional finance teams on local tax issues.
  10. Lead Tax Due Diligence: Lead tax due diligence and structuring for potential acquisitions, ensuring tax-efficient deal structures.
  11. Advise on Post-Acquisition Integration: Advise on post-acquisition integration from a tax perspective, ensuring alignment with our overall tax strategy.
  12. Establish Global Tax Policies: Establish and maintain global tax policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across all regions.
  13. Monitor Tax Legislation: Monitor changes in tax legislation globally and assess the impact on the company, making recommendations for necessary adjustments to the tax strategy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. ACA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  2. Extensive experience in a senior tax role, ideally within a multinational corporation or Big 4 firm.
  3. Proven track record in developing and implementing global tax strategies.
  4. Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations, including transfer pricing, VAT/GST, and corporate income tax.
  5. Experience in a private equity-backed environment and in handling tax matters related to M&A and IPOs.
  6. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a global team.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  8. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
