Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Safeguarding Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Biochemistry and Metabolic Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with lipid disorders and contributing to the development of our specialist lipidology services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with lipid disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our specialist lipidology services, including clinical trials and research studies.
  • Lead a tertiary adult hypertension clinic and provide expert care to patients with hypertension.
  • Collaborate with our laboratory team to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Participate in the training and education of junior staff and medical students.
Requirements
  • Full and specialist registration in Chemical Pathology with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview.
  • FRCPath in Chemical Pathology or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCP or other higher specialist medical degree.
  • CCT in Chemical Pathology with Metabolic Medicine.
Desirable Qualities
  • Experience in managing LDL-apheresis.
  • Evidence of another metabolic medicine special interest and expertise that complements those of other consultants in the department.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively.
