We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Safeguarding Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Biochemistry and Metabolic Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with lipid disorders and contributing to the provision of specialist lipidology services.
Main Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical care to patients with lipid disorders, including contributing to the ongoing clinical trial work and recruiting to trials.
- Lead a tertiary adult hypertension clinic and contribute to service development.
- Work at the clinical interface and contribute to the development of the laboratory team.
- Teach and train medical students, specialist registrars, and clinical scientists.
- Full and specialist registration in Chemical Pathology with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview.
- FRCPath in Chemical Pathology or equivalent qualification.
- MRCP or other higher specialist medical degree.
- CCT in Chemical Pathology with Metabolic Medicine.
- Thorough and broad training and experience in Clinical Biochemistry.
- Extensive experience in the direct care of patients with lipid disorders.
- Experience and skills required to run a tertiary adult hypertension clinic.
- Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision.
