We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Safeguarding Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Biochemistry and Metabolic Medicine department, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to patients with lipid disorders.
Main Responsibilities- Contribute to the provision of specialist lipidology services, including clinical trial work and tertiary adult hypertension clinics.
- Lead a team of healthcare professionals in the direct care of patients with lipid disorders.
- Develop and implement service development initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Participate in training and education of junior staff and medical students.
- Full and specialist registration in Chemical Pathology with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview.
- FRCPath in Chemical Pathology or equivalent qualification.
- MRCP or other higher specialist medical degree.
- CCT in Chemical Pathology with Metabolic Medicine.
- Extensive experience in the direct care of patients with lipid disorders.
- Experience and skills required to run a tertiary adult hypertension clinic.
- Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision.
- Experience of managing LDL-apheresis.
- Evidence of another metabolic medicine special interest and expertise that complements those of other consultants in the department.
