We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Clinical Biochemistry and Metabolic Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical care to patients with lipid disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and management.
- Contribute to the provision of specialist lipidology services, including clinical trials and research studies.
- Lead a tertiary adult hypertension clinic and develop strategies to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to develop and implement clinical biochemistry services.
- Teach and train medical students, specialist registrars, and clinical scientists.
- Full and specialist registration in Chemical Pathology with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- FRCPath in Chemical Pathology or equivalent qualification.
- MRCP or other higher specialist medical degree.
- CCT in Chemical Pathology with Metabolic Medicine.
- Extensive experience in clinical biochemistry, lipidology, and hypertension.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
