Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled 3rd Line Systems Support Specialist to enhance our Technology Operations team. This role involves delivering high-level technical support and guidance, collaborating closely with the Technical Systems Manager and the Head of Technical Operations. Your main focus will be on ensuring the efficient provision of technical services, emphasizing infrastructure, servers, systems, communications, and overall service delivery.

As a 3rd Line Systems Support Specialist, you will lead and coordinate team efforts, advocate for best practices, and ensure adherence to service level agreements. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving intricate and high-stakes issues, as well as investigating recurring problems to develop sustainable solutions. Your expertise will also be vital in supporting technical teams and projects, contributing to the stability and scalability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate technical challenges to uphold service quality, collaborating with users, team members, the Service Desk, and vendors as necessary.
  • Deliver 3rd Line technical assistance to operational and project teams, providing your expertise to troubleshoot issues and promote best practices.
  • Execute complex configurations, installations, and adjustments of servers, storage, and communication platforms for routine changes and projects.
  • Propose and implement standards for configurations, tools, and products.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including standards, security protocols, procedures, and configuration specifics.
  • Utilize management software and analytical tools to gather system metrics, model performance, and generate reports, including suggestions for enhancements and capacity planning.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and team development within a technical support environment, with a proven ability to effectively guide others.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing detailed reports and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to convey technical information to individuals at all levels.
  • Outstanding documentation skills, adept at presenting information in a clear and logical manner.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills to meet project and business objectives.
  • Expertise in a wide range of Server, Storage, and Networking technologies at a 3rd Line Support level.
  • In-depth understanding of IT security best practices, with a solid grasp of MOD standards and accreditation processes.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Servers, virtualization technologies, enterprise storage solutions, and other infrastructure technologies in large-scale environments.
  • Experience in supporting cloud technologies.
