About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Nurse to join our team at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our cancer services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, including administration of chemotherapy and management of side effects.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and monitor patients' progress, identifying and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and continuity.
  • Participate in education and training programs to stay up-to-date with the latest cancer treatments and best practices.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help drive excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and relevant post-registration experience in oncology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of patients and the service.
  • Desirable: experience in administering SACT, venepuncture, cannulation, and management of central vascular access devices.
