Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse to join our Transformation Unit as a Bariatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to ward staff and learners in the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Attend Bariatric clinics, providing education and support to patients and their significant others in the management of their care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of guidelines and pathways for the delivery of care, in line with national recommendations.
Requirements
  • Nurse degree or equivalent in experience.
  • Teaching qualification.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Vast experience of working within the Surgical division.
  • Knowledge and awareness of diseases and complexities in health relating to obesity.
  • Experience of mentoring and developing staff.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the Bariatric service.
  • Experience of undertaking nurse-led clinics.
  • Knowledge of the national and local NHS healthcare agenda for the obese patient.
  • Evidence of management and leadership skills.
