Academic Lecturer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Lecturer to join our team at Regent College London. As an Academic Lecturer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching and learning materials, as well as assessing student performance and providing feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Learning:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions to students, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and work with the attendance team to ensure the accuracy of student attendance information.
- Develop and deliver teaching materials, including lesson plans, syllabi, and assessments.
- Use digital tools and platforms to support teaching and learning, including virtual learning environments (VLEs) and Microsoft Teams.
- Assessment and Feedback:
- Set and mark assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Participate in standardization and moderation meetings to ensure consistency in assessment and feedback.
- Provide formative feedback to students to support their learning and development.
- Student Support:
- Provide pastoral support to students, signposting them to specialist services as needed.
- Monitor student progress and provide guidance and support to students who require it.
- Quality Assurance:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Participate in module and programme evaluations to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Engage with the College's quality assurance and academic governance frameworks to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Scholarship and Professional Development:
- Engage in scholarship and professional development activities to support teaching and learning, including attending conferences and workshops.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in the field and apply this knowledge to teaching and learning.
- Managing People and Resources:
- Manage projects and resources to support teaching and learning, including coordinating with colleagues and support staff.
- Exercise responsibility for the design and delivery of teaching and learning materials, including assessments and feedback.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- Master's degree in a relevant subject discipline.
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or willingness to work towards.
- Significant experience in teaching, curriculum development, and quality management in a higher education environment.
- Appropriate digital skills in learning, teaching, and assessment.
- Desirable:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- Experience of research and enterprise activity.
- Ability to participate in and develop external networks.
