Job Title: Academic Lecturer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Lecturer to join our team at Regent College London. As an Academic Lecturer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching and learning materials, as well as assessing student performance and providing feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Deliver high-quality teaching sessions to students, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
    • Develop and maintain teaching materials, including lesson plans, syllabi, and assessments.
    • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate student learning.
    • Mark and provide feedback on student assignments and exams.
    • Participate in standardization and moderation meetings to ensure consistency in assessment.
  • Student Support:
    • Provide pastoral support to students, including guidance on academic and personal issues.
    • Monitor student progress and provide feedback on their learning.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance processes.
    • Participate in program evaluations and provide feedback on student learning experiences.
  • Scholarship and Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching and learning practices.
    • Contribute to the development of new programs and courses.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Master's degree in a relevant subject area.
    • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or willingness to work towards.
    • Significant experience in teaching, curriculum development, and quality management in a higher education environment.
  • Desirable:
    • PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
    • Experience in team leadership and management.
    • Membership of a relevant professional body.
