Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Lecturer to join our team at Regent College London. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions to students, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
    • Maintain accurate attendance records and work with the attendance team to ensure the accuracy of student attendance information.
    • Develop and update teaching materials, including lesson plans, handouts, and online resources.
    • Ensure that students are engaging with the course material and provide feedback to students on their progress.
  • Assessment and Marking:
    • Set and mark assessments for students, ensuring that they are fair, valid, and reliable.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance.
    • Participate in standardization and moderation meetings to ensure consistency in assessment and marking.
  • Student Support:
    • Provide pastoral support to students, including signposting them to specialist services as needed.
    • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students on their performance.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance processes, including module evaluation and programme evaluation.
    • Engage with programme committee meetings to contribute to the continuous improvement of student learning experiences.
  • Scholarship:
    • Engage in scholarship activities to support teaching and learning, including staying up-to-date with developments in the field and participating in research and enterprise activities.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Master's degree in a relevant subject discipline.
    • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or willingness to work towards within 12 months.
    • Significant experience in teaching, curriculum development, and quality management in a higher education environment.
    • Appropriate digital skills in learning, teaching, and assessment.
  • Desirable:
    • PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
    • Experience of research and enterprise activity.
    • Able to participate in and develop external networks.
