Job Title: Academic Lecturer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Lecturer to join our team at Regent College London. As an Academic Lecturer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching and learning materials, as well as assessing student performance and providing feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials to students
    • Maintain attendance records and work with the attendance team to ensure accuracy
    • Develop and update teaching materials, including class notes and VLE content
    • Ensure students are engaging with course materials and provide feedback
  • Assessment and Marking:
    • Set and mark assessments, ensuring timely and constructive feedback
    • Participate in standardization and moderation meetings
    • Identify and escalate cases of academic misconduct
  • Student Support:
    • Provide pastoral support to students, signposting them to specialist services as needed
    • Monitor student progress and liaise with specialist services
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Contribute to programme evaluations and module evaluation reports
    • Engage with programme committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement
    • Reflect on student feedback and identify areas for improvement
  • Scholarship:
    • Engage in scholarship to support teaching activities and update knowledge
    • Apply knowledge to teaching and external activities
  • Managing People and Resources:
    • Coordinate with colleagues to ensure student needs are met
    • Manage projects and coordinate the work of others
    • Exercise responsibility for module design and delivery

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Master's degree in a relevant subject discipline
    • Fellowship of the HEA or willingness to work towards
    • Significant experience in a subject area relevant to the School
    • Positive attitude to colleagues and students
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desirable:
    • PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area
    • Teaching qualification or preparedness to work towards
    • Membership of a Professional Statutory Regulatory Body (PSRB)
