Job Title: Academic Lecturer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Lecturer to join our team at Regent College London. As an Academic Lecturer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching and learning materials, as well as assessing student performance and providing feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Deliver high-quality teaching sessions to students, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
    • Maintain accurate attendance records and work with the attendance team to ensure the accuracy of student information.
    • Develop and update teaching materials, including class notes and other resources.
    • Ensure that students are engaging with the course material and provide feedback to students as needed.
  • Assessment and Marking:
    • Set and mark assessments for students, ensuring that they are fair and consistent.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance.
    • Participate in standardization and moderation meetings to ensure consistency in assessment.
  • Student Support:
    • Provide pastoral support to students, signposting them to specialist services as needed.
    • Monitor student progress and provide guidance to students as needed.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance processes.
    • Participate in module and programme evaluations to ensure that the curriculum is meeting the needs of students.
  • Scholarship:
    • Engage in scholarship activities to support teaching and learning.
    • Develop and apply knowledge to teaching and learning, as well as external activities.
  • Managing People and Resources:
    • Manage projects and resources to support teaching and learning.
    • Co-ordinate the work of others to ensure that modules are delivered to the required standards.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Master's degree in a relevant subject discipline.
    • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or willingness to work towards.
    • Significant experience in teaching, curriculum development, and quality management in a higher education environment.
    • Appropriate digital skills in learning, teaching, and assessment.
  • Desirable:
    • PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
    • Experience of research and enterprise activity.
    • Ability to participate in and develop external networks.
