Position Overview: Student Support and Pastoral Coordinator

The Student Support and Pastoral Coordinator will be an integral part of the pastoral team, dedicated to enhancing student welfare. Collaborating closely with the Assistant Headteacher, you will effectively monitor and assess student wellbeing and academic progress. Your responsibilities will include ensuring student safety, implementing necessary interventions, and facilitating the smooth transition of new or returning students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safeguarding of students and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Track and evaluate student progress and wellbeing in collaboration with educational staff.
  • Develop and implement tailored interventions to support individual student needs.
  • Assist in the transition process for new or returning students to ensure their successful integration.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSE or equivalent qualifications, with at least a Grade C in English and Maths.
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the educational sector.
  • Experience of up to 3 years in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) environment.
  • Strong listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of the challenges students may encounter in their learning journey.
