Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Advanced Critical Care Practitioner who possesses up-to-date clinical expertise in Critical Care. This role is essential for delivering comprehensive patient assessments that inform clinical decision-making, ensuring prompt and appropriate actions are taken in the best interests of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough physiological assessments of critically ill patients, regardless of their location, and respond effectively to their needs.
  • Manage and review individual patient caseloads post-Critical Care discharge, as well as those referred by ward staff, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Evaluate and gather information from various sources, including physiological assessments, patient histories, and diagnostic data, to identify relevant clinical issues.
  • Utilize sound clinical judgment and established protocols to initiate appropriate management and treatment plans.
  • Maintain a high level of competency in the role, recognizing the boundaries of practice and making appropriate referrals to other healthcare professionals when necessary.
  • Prescribe and administer a range of medications as a Non-medical prescriber.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to ensure that professional advice, care guidance, and instructions are clearly understood by patients, their families, and members of the multidisciplinary team.

This position is integral to the delivery of high-quality care within the NHS, contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients.
