Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Diagnostic Radiographers to enhance our esteemed CT department. Our facilities are equipped with five cutting-edge Canon CT scanners, distributed across multiple locations.

The variety of CT procedures we conduct is extensive, encompassing trauma imaging, neuroimaging, cardiac assessments, vascular studies, and abdominal imaging, including colonography. We are also committed to supporting and advancing clinical research initiatives.

Candidates should possess a DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and hold HPC registration. Strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a collaborative spirit are essential for this role.

The position involves working within the CT department, rotating across various sites.

Participation in out-of-hours CT shifts and on-call duties from home is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, responsive diagnostic radiographic services as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring exceptional patient care.
  • Adhere to departmental protocols to ensure safe practices.
  • Conduct CT examinations with precision, safety, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate foundational skills and knowledge in relevant radiographic practices in CT scanning, serving as a mentor for junior radiographers and aiding in their professional development.
  • Foster positive professional relationships with both medical and non-medical staff, promoting high service standards within the CT department.
  • Assume responsibilities in the absence of the Superintendent, ensuring continuity and effective communication within the specialty.
  • Oversee daily operations and workflow management.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC registration
  • Postgraduate training or education at the graduate certificate/diploma level
  • Specialized short courses in relevant imaging subjects or equivalent qualifications/experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master’s level or postgraduate certificate/diploma in CT

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Post-qualification experience.
  • CPD portfolio or relevant evidence demonstrating clinical work at the graduate certificate/diploma level.
  • Experience in NHS or UK-based medical imaging.
  • Participation in professional lectures, study days, and workshops.

Desirable

  • Experience at Senior 1/Band 6 Radiographer/Practitioner level.
  • Experience in audit, teaching, and supervision.
