About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Advanced Quality Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our pathology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure effective training and competency assessment.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on quality management systems and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain quality policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
Requirements
  • BSc in a science-related subject or equivalent experience in a relevant profession.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent evidence of extended practice.
  • Evidence of continual professional development.
  • Experience of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance (UKAS, HTA, MHRA).
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of ISO requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective training and presentation skills.
