Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity exists within the Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy Division at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust for an Advanced Physiotherapy Specialist in the Neuro Oncology Division. This role is part of a dedicated, knowledgeable, and supportive team, providing a chance to enhance your professional skills and expertise.

This position offers a unique chance to deepen your knowledge in the field of acute neurological rehabilitation and oncology. You will work across various environments, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and specialized settings. Your caseload will encompass a diverse range of patients, including those with acute neurological conditions such as brain injuries, spinal injuries, post-operative neurosurgery cases, and patients with oncology and hematological disorders.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Neuro Oncology physiotherapy team, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering specialized and high-quality physiotherapy services.
  • Conducting advanced assessments of pediatric patients with a variety of conditions.
  • Utilizing advanced clinical reasoning to develop tailored treatment strategies.
  • Implementing a family-centered approach to physiotherapy interventions.
  • Managing a personal caseload of infants, children, and adolescents with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinating complex discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Accessing guidance and support from senior physiotherapists while also engaging in clinical duties as an evolving autonomous practitioner.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assuming professional accountability for all aspects of your work, including patient management.
