As part of a collaborative team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services tailored to the needs of children in our care.
Candidates should possess exceptional communication and organizational abilities, a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD), and a solid understanding of MRI safety protocols and health regulations to guarantee the highest standard of care for our young patients. We offer numerous CPD opportunities, including research initiatives, postgraduate training, audits, and specialized training, and we are dedicated to fostering an environment that promotes excellence within our department.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, specialized paediatric diagnostic MRI service. This includes:
- Conducting a variety of specialized paediatric MRI examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and safety regulations.
- Ensuring a supportive and calming environment for children undergoing imaging procedures.
- Adhering to established MRI policies, professional guidelines, and best practices.
- Collaborating with a range of specialties, including neurosurgery, oncology, and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Participating in an on-call MRI service on a rotational basis after completing initial training.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Registration with HCPC.
- DCR(R) / BSc (Hons) Degree in Radiography or equivalent.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Training in MRI imaging techniques.
- Participation in specialized MRI courses.
Desirable
- Experience in paediatric radiology.
- Previous NHS experience in MRI.
- Postgraduate certification in MR cross-sectional imaging.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Understanding of professional legal responsibilities.
- Knowledge of clinical governance.
- Familiarity with data protection and confidentiality.
- Competent IT skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge of consent issues in paediatrics.
