Dementia Support Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Dementia Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals affected by dementia and their carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with dementia and their carers in identifying their needs and providing information and guidance to maintain their independence and improve their sense of well-being.
- Be part of a highly motivated and supportive team, sharing responsibility for some group activities and building relationships with local contacts.
- Provide support face-to-face, by telephone, and online, and represent the needs of our community.
- Work collaboratively with health and care professionals to provide dementia support and promote the benefits of our services.
About You
We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of dementia and the needs of people affected by dementia. You will have excellent communication skills, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach. It is desirable that you have knowledge and experience of adult and children safeguarding, information governance policies and procedures, and statutory laws such as the Mental Capacity Act.

- Sound knowledge of IT systems to record data, write reports, and communicate effectively.
- Understanding of client confidentiality and how it is applied when representing client needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of relevant agencies.
