About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Dementia Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to people affected by dementia and their carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with dementia and their carers in identifying their needs and providing information and guidance to maintain their independence and improve their well-being.
  • Be part of a highly motivated and supportive team, sharing responsibility for some group activities and building relationships with local contacts.
  • Provide support face-to-face, by telephone, and online, and represent the needs of our community.
  • Work collaboratively with health and care professionals, marketing our dementia support service and providing dementia support.
About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of dementia and the needs of people affected by dementia. You will have excellent communication skills, be empathetic and non-judgmental in your approach, and have a commitment to equal opportunity.

You will also have a sound knowledge of IT systems, be able to record data, write reports, and communicate effectively. Understanding client confidentiality and how it is applied when representing client needs is essential.
