Job Title: Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Paediatric Diabetes Team as a Band 5/6 nurse, depending on experience.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, holistic evidence-based care to children, young people, and their families. You will need to have relevant diabetes experience, but diabetes training will be provided.

Main Duties
  • Deliver structured education at diagnosis for children and young people and their families.
  • Provide ongoing education and support to children, young people, and their families.
  • Act as an advocate for children and young people with diabetes.
  • Support and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality nursing care.
  • Provide training in all aspects of paediatric diabetes care to all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • RSCN/RN (Child) with the Nursing Midwifery Council.
  • Degree level, specialist training, or equivalent experience.
  • Appropriate experience in paediatric nursing.
  • Appropriate teaching/assessing experience.
  • Current driving license.
