Paediatric Dietitian Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Dietitian to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition and dietetic care to paediatric patients with complex medical and nutritional needs.
Working autonomously in the community, you will use your specialist knowledge and clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, agree, plan, implement and monitor a nutrition and dietetic care plan based on a range of treatment options. You will also be responsible for motivating and delivering information and skills to patients and their families to empower them to control their nutritional wellbeing.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Dietitian to further develop their experience and knowledge in a specialist field. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated Education and Training lead dietitian and access to post-graduate study with dedicated funds.
Key Responsibilities- To use specialist knowledge and clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, agree, plan, implement and monitor a nutrition and dietetic care plan based on a range of treatment options for paediatric patients who have complex medical, nutritional and psychological needs that are enterally fed within the community.
- To overcome resistance to dietary change by motivating and delivering to the patient and their families the appropriate information and skills needed to meet their nutritional requirements, empowering the patient and carers to control nutritional wellbeing.
- To undertake an extended role, following training, providing care/repair of gastrostomy tubes and care of stoma sites for paediatric patients in their own homes, escalating complex enteral tube and stoma site issues to the Paediatric Enteral Nutrition Nurse Specialist or Children's Community Nursing Team.
- Degree/post graduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Registered with the Health Professions Council
- Extensive post registration experience with experience of nutrition support and Paediatric Dietetics
- Specialist clinical knowledge around enteral feeding
- Full UK driving license and access to roadworthy vehicle that can be used for work
