Investment Strategy Manager

In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that capital maintenance is executed effectively to minimize operational risks, enhance site resilience, and maintain optimal water quality while controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities

As the Investment Manager, your primary duties will encompass:

  • Overseeing the execution of capital investment initiatives for water supply, focusing on delivering solutions aligned with our risk-based investment strategy.
  • Facilitating high-level communication between Operational and Capital Delivery teams to ensure effective risk management and timely project completion within budget.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of comprehensive documentation throughout project lifecycles, from initial risk assessment to final project handover.
  • Developing regular maintenance schedules to uphold the longevity and performance of essential assets, including enhancements to asset data for targeted maintenance and investment.
  • Leading Asset Lifecycle Engineers in implementing remedial work programs across water supply, which may involve investing in new assets.
  • Leveraging all available data to ensure effective investment decisions.
  • Operating and maintaining our assets to meet and exceed targets and KPIs established by both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the development of the company’s business strategy and area plans.
  • Fostering strong relationships within Operational and Capital Delivery teams to ensure the successful execution of the capital program.
  • Evaluating risks that arise during project execution and striving for the most effective and economical outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the utilities sector.
  • A degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in various aspects of project-related engineering execution.
  • Proven experience in managing financial budgets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations, ideally with relevant certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Strategic mindset with exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
  • High level of proficiency in computer applications.
