Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our prison and its residents.
Key Responsibilities:- To ensure the effective security of the prison, including controlling access points and monitoring CCTV systems.
- To provide escort duties for visitors, contractors, and prisoners, ensuring their safety and security at all times.
- To maintain accurate records of prisoner property and respond to queries regarding its handling.
- To supervise and task prisoners employed within the property stores, ensuring their safety and security.
- To handle incoming and outgoing mail, including random monitoring and testing using indicative testing equipment.
- To carry out routine and intelligence-led monitoring of PIN Phone telephone calls.
- To be smart in appearance at all times, reflecting the high standards of our organization.
- To be IT literate and comfortable with both Windows-based and Google operating systems.
- To be competent in using database and spreadsheet applications, such as MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- To be polite and mindful of the needs of all who may be interacted with, including staff, visitors, and contractors.
- To work seamlessly with other team members, contributing to the department and function strategy.
