Position Overview

The Global Media Manager plays a crucial role in orchestrating earned media relations and social media initiatives across targeted markets, aimed at strategically promoting Valneva's expanding portfolio of vaccines. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing Valneva's global social media platforms to effectively amplify the corporate narrative.

This position is integral to the Global Communications Team, serving as the communications liaison with marketing and commercial teams to ensure message alignment and consistency. A high degree of credibility and strong interpersonal skills are essential for supporting both external and internal communication initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of impactful public relations and social media campaigns to highlight Valneva's vaccine offerings, focusing on disease awareness and the positioning of our travel vaccine line.
  • Enhance Valneva's commercial vaccine portfolio through proactive media outreach and earned public relations opportunities in select markets.
  • Oversee and expand Valneva's global social media footprint by leading content strategy and ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
  • Facilitate a steady flow of internal communications to reinforce product messaging and connect with our organizational purpose.
  • Manage agency partnerships to achieve business objectives and ensure a strong return on investment linked to defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Assist Global Marketing Communications and Country brand teams with annual planning and execution of earned and owned media campaigns.
  • Anticipate and prepare for product-related challenges to enable swift and appropriate responses, both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of the global regulatory landscape, including risks, challenges, and opportunities within the healthcare sector, particularly in the U.S., Canada, UK, and Europe.
  • Strong business acumen and comprehension of the commercial landscape.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities.
  • Experience in executing campaigns across traditional and digital platforms, integrating earned, owned, and paid media strategies.
  • Proven track record in developing, implementing, and measuring public relations and social media strategies that align with commercial goals.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders across various functions and cultures.
  • Experience collaborating with external agencies and managing those relationships effectively.

Essential Skills

  • Significant experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare communications sector, with a preference for expertise in vaccines or infectious diseases.
  • Extensive background in healthcare product communications, particularly with marketed products.
  • Experience working across major markets, including North America, Europe, and the UK.
  • Strong understanding of owned and earned media execution, along with experience in media relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content such as narratives, presentations, speeches, and video scripts for senior leadership.
  • A high level of credibility and strong interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Adept at navigating an international organization and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment with high accountability.
  • Familiarity with the highly regulated nature of the healthcare industry, including relevant regulations and codes of conduct governing communications.
