Job Overview

We are excited to announce a vacancy for a Band 6 Lead Respiratory Nurse within our dedicated team on Ward A1. This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced nurse passionate about acute respiratory care.

Ward A1 is a specialized 28-bed unit focused on the management of patients with diverse respiratory conditions. Our team is expertly trained to provide advanced respiratory interventions, including Non-Invasive Ventilation and High Flow Oxygen therapy. We are adept at caring for patients with complex airway management needs, including those with tracheostomies and laryngectomies.

As part of our vibrant and collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you will uphold high standards of care and contribute to a positive work environment. We are committed to your professional growth as a Band 6 Lead Nurse through comprehensive leadership training and mentorship opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional patient care with dedication and skill.

- Exhibit a strong passion for acute respiratory nursing.

- Demonstrate experience with Non-Invasive Ventilation techniques.

- Show potential for leadership and possess mentorship capabilities.

- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and understand the importance of audit processes.

- Familiarize yourself with Health Roster, NHSP, and the HIVE system.

- Coordinate daily shifts, mentor junior staff, and communicate patient needs during MDT rounds.

Comprehensive training and support will be provided to enhance your skills at Band 6 and assist you in completing the Band 6 competency framework.
