The Opportunity

As we embark on our growth journey, we are introducing the position of Project Management Office (PMO) Lead. The objective? Streamline project execution, enhance team collaboration, and maintain transparency throughout our initiatives. We seek an experienced professional to guide our efforts and ensure the success of our key projects.

This role is crucial for us at Causeway Technologies as we are in the midst of a transformation, integrating our acquisitions into a cohesive operation. We are looking for an individual with a minimum of five years of practical experience managing a PMO, engaging with transformation teams, and overseeing a portfolio of change initiatives.

As the PMO Lead, you will not only focus on processes but also serve as the primary contact to guarantee that projects operate seamlessly. You will work closely with all organizational sectors and report directly to the Head of IT.

Your responsibilities will include establishing and ensuring adherence to project management protocols, implementing best practices, and collaborating with key stakeholders to keep projects aligned with our objectives and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and lead the PMO function:

  • Develop the PMO function in collaboration with the Head of IT and departmental leaders to define its structure, processes, and responsibilities.
  • Oversee the continuous assessment and review of portfolios for their impact on current business operations and the strategic benefits to be achieved. Implement governance arrangements and effective reporting for the portfolio.

Implement portfolio management practices:

  • Define and execute a portfolio management framework, establishing criteria for resource prioritization and the changes to be enacted.
  • Continuously monitor and review portfolios for their impact on current business activities and benefits realization.
  • Report on activities related to the portfolio.

Develop project management methodologies:

  • Create and implement project management methodologies, frameworks, and tools to standardize project delivery processes and promote consistency.

Define and enforce project management standards:

  • Establish project management standards, including governance frameworks, risk management processes, and reporting mechanisms. Provide guidance on processes for project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

Provide project oversight and guidance:

  • Monitor the progress and performance of strategic projects at the company level, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and offer guidance to project managers and teams.

Implement project tracking and reporting:

  • Develop and maintain project tracking systems, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to provide accurate and timely updates on project status and risk management strategies to stakeholders.

Foster cross-functional collaboration:

  • Encourage effective communication, collaboration, and coordination among project teams, functional leaders, and executive stakeholders to promote transparency and drive successful project outcomes.

Continuously improve PMO processes:

  • Identify opportunities for enhancing PMO processes and drive initiatives to improve project management practices and efficiencies.

Stay updated on industry best practices:

  • Keep abreast of the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in project management to continuously enhance the PMO's practices and capabilities.

Deliver Projects:

  • Support relevant projects as the Project Manager for the executive office, as required by the business needs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in portfolio and project management, ideally within a technology or software development context.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio, program, and project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering strategic, high-impact, high-risk projects.
  • Experience in a similar role, including the management of transformation projects and commercial oversight of projects.
  • Experience in establishing and leading a PMO or similar function is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Project & PPM software is beneficial.

Desirable Skills:

  • Possession of a qualification or training in Project Management is preferred.
