About the Role

A leading construction company is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join their team. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for residential construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to create accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and clarify project scope.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Continuously update and refine cost databases and estimating tools to ensure accurate and current pricing.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to the development of project schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
  • Monitor project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle to identify any deviations from the original estimate.
  • Provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in large-scale construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
