Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for an Engagement Facilitator within our Male AOT inpatient unit. This role is situated in a supportive environment where the successful applicant will be responsible for organizing a variety of social, recreational, and leisure activities tailored for individuals and groups facing mental health challenges. Collaboration with the Occupational Therapy team is essential, as you will play a key role in assessments and interventions through community engagement and social activities.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will take the lead in providing exceptional activity programs for the patients on the ward, with a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include:

  • Working directly with patients who have complex needs, creating opportunities for engagement that enhance well-being and support recovery.
  • Developing an activity schedule that meets the diverse needs of male patients in an inpatient mental health setting, addressing both physical and mental health challenges.
  • Offering direct assistance to Allied Health Practitioners, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary team, focusing on meaningful activity work within the ward.
  • Collaborating with team members to prioritize the needs of patients, facilitating social inclusion and encouraging active participation in personalized recovery plans.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of clinical risk management and applying this knowledge in practice while undertaking delegated tasks to ensure the service operates smoothly.

A qualification of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required for this position.
