Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

The individual in this role will ensure the effective operation of safety and security systems within the control room environment.

Acting as the primary point of contact for all visitors and service users, the post holder will manage all incoming telephone inquiries with professionalism, reflecting the core values of the organization and ensuring high standards of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will possess (or be able to quickly acquire) a comprehensive understanding of local, organizational, and national policies and regulations that govern current operational practices within the control room.

Given that the control room serves as the central hub for monitoring all security systems and facilitating communication both internally and externally, it is imperative that the facility remains fully operational at all times.

Consequently, staff in the control room will be required to work various shift patterns to cover a 24-hour operational period, often as part of a team or independently with support from on-site personnel. This includes the necessity to work during nighttime hours, weekends, and public holidays.

The individual will also be required to complete training and become certified as a first aider to provide continuous first aid support throughout the service.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations Coordinator

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Secure and Complex Care Programme as a Security Operations Coordinator Band 3 (£21,730 - £23,177).

Role Description and Essential Qualifications

We are seeking to recruit individuals to join our team responsible for the daily operational management of our control room. This position will be part of the Secure Services.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a challenging and dynamic environment, receiving support throughout their career within the Trust, including a thorough induction and ongoing professional development.

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, self-driven, and efficient, capable of working collaboratively or independently.

Flexibility to work shifts across a 24-hour period, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, is essential.

The Trust is committed to enhancing diversity within its workforce and actively encourages applications from underrepresented groups, including individuals from minority backgrounds and those with experience in mental health or caregiving.
