Job Description

Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Band 6

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Outreach Team as a Band 6. The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical lead OT to develop and implement occupational therapy pathways, providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to enable individuals to participate in recovery-based community activities, engage in treatment, and live successfully in their own homes or supported accommodation.
  • Hold a small caseload of service users who would benefit from having an OT as a key worker.
  • Develop activity programmes to engage individuals in meaningful occupations and facilitate psycho-social and psycho-educational workshops.
  • Work closely with the MDT, including RMS's, Social Worker, AMHP, and medical staff, to provide comprehensive care to service users.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor band 5 staff and therapy support staff to develop leadership skills.

Requirements:

  • Registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Qualification at degree level or equivalent.
  • Previous community experience working with service users with complex long-term needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Competent risk assessment and risk management skills.
  • Commitment to achieving the highest standards of care.

Working Arrangements:

The Assertive Outreach service operates over 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Shift patterns consist of day shifts, late shifts, and weekends. Flexible working arrangements are available during these hours.
