Position Overview: Non-interventional Cardiology Consultant

We are seeking a skilled Consultant in Cardiology to enhance our services at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. This role focuses on delivering high-quality non-invasive Cardiology care to our patients.

As a Consultant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing non-interventional Cardiology services such as Cardiac Imaging, management of Inherited Cardiac Conditions, and Heart Failure treatment.
  • Engaging in General Cardiology services, both in inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.
  • Managing patients in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) and the Cardiology Investigation Unit (CIU).
  • Conducting outpatient consultations and participating in cath lab activities.
  • Contributing to weekend ward rounds as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register or nearing completion of their CCT at the time of the interview. We encourage applications from those interested in flexible working arrangements.

Ideal candidates will possess contemporary experience in both general and acute Cardiology, with essential skills in Cardiac imaging, Arrhythmia management, and handling Inherited Cardiac Conditions. Additional qualifications such as a higher degree and experience in teaching or clinical audit are advantageous.
