Position: Senior Infrastructure Project Manager

Location: Remote

Contract Duration: 12 Months

My3Tech is in search of an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee and execute intricate IT projects involving various teams and workflows, adhering to a strict delivery timeline.

Reporting to the program manager, the Project Manager will be accountable for the successful outcomes of the designated projects. This role involves guiding the team through the established Project Management Standards to ensure the effective completion of project phases: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control, and Closure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a hands-on technical project manager collaborating with development teams and business units.
  2. Facilitate communication with IT management and staff to align work tasks and resource allocation.
  3. Set clear timelines and expectations for both technical and business personnel.
  4. Engage with vendors, consultants, and contractors throughout project execution, including contract oversight and coordination with procurement.
  5. Comply with organizational project management practices and governance standards; liaise with relevant Project Management Offices.
  6. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including budget plans, schedules, risks, and status updates, and share information with team members and stakeholders as outlined in the communication strategy.
  7. Ensure thorough documentation of requirements and facilitate design workshops for assigned projects.
  8. Define testing objectives and develop test plans and cases for assigned projects.
  9. Oversee project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  10. Measure and communicate progress using defined metrics.
  11. Support training initiatives for systems and applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure project delivery, including network infrastructure, architecture, wireless technologies, and cloud implementation.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications network technologies and standards.
  • Experience managing projects involving network switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, fiber optics, and internet services.
  • Familiarity with modern fabric-based networks, including Network Fabric underlay, overlay, and SD-WAN; VoIP infrastructure experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record in managing large, multi-stream projects.
  • Experience in evaluating carrier bids and presenting recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to develop scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
  • Integrate technical and business knowledge to create innovative solutions for project automation.
  • PMP certification or qualification under Commonwealth Standards for IT Project Managers for Category 4 Projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Background in complex office relocations, including networking, security, AV, and other office equipment.
  • Agile Scrum Master certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server).

Special Instructions:

This position requires a background check.

PMP certification from PMI or PM certification from VITA is essential; no other certifications will be accepted.

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience managing large projects and a total of 15 years in IT.
