Position: Senior IT Project Manager

Location: Remote

Contract Duration: 12 Months

My3Tech is in search of a seasoned Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee and execute intricate IT projects involving multiple teams and work streams aligned with a stringent delivery timeline.

Reporting to the program manager, the project manager will be accountable for the successful outcomes of the designated projects. The role involves guiding the team through the Commonwealth Standard for Project Management to ensure the effective completion of project phases: Pre-Select, Initiation, Planning, Execution and Control, and Closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as a hands-on technical project manager collaborating with development teams and business units.

- Facilitate coordination and communication with IT management and staff to streamline work tasks and resource allocation.

- Set clear timelines and expectations for both technical and business personnel.

- Partner with vendors, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective project execution, including contract management and collaboration with procurement offices.

- Comply with VDOT and VITA project management practices and governance requirements; liaise with VDOT and VITA Project Management Offices.

- Maintain project budgets, plans, schedules, risks, and status updates, disseminating information to team members and stakeholders as outlined in the communications plan.

- Ensure comprehensive documentation of requirements and use cases, facilitating design workshops for assigned projects.

- Define testing objectives, design test plans, and create test cases for assigned projects.

- Manage project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.

- Measure and communicate progress using relevant metrics.

- Support training initiatives for systems and applications.

Required Qualifications:

- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in IT infrastructure delivery, including network infrastructure, network architecture, wireless technologies, and cloud implementation.

- Familiarity with telecommunications network technologies, standards, and practices.

- Experience managing projects involving network switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, fiber optics, and internet services.

- Proficiency in modern fabric-based networks, including Network Fabric underlay, overlay, and SD WAN. Experience with VoIP infrastructure is a plus.

- Proven experience managing large, multi-stream projects.

- Ability to review carrier bid feedback and present recommendations to the Management Committee for approval.

- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to identify, enable, and deliver scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

- Integrate technical and business knowledge to develop innovative solutions that automate project activities.

- PMP certification or qualification under Commonwealth of Qualification Standards for IT Project Managers for Category 4 Projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.

- Background in complex office relocations, including networking, security, AV, and other office equipment.

- Agile Scrum Master certification.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server).

Special Instructions:

This position requires a fingerprint-based background check. PMP certification from PMI or PM certification from VITA is mandatory; no other certification qualifies.

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience managing large projects and a total of 15 years of overall IT experience.
