About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our team at TUI. As a key member of our Flight Operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support to flight crews and engineers worldwide to resolve aircraft defects and maintenance issues.
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with flight operations and base maintenance departments to ensure aircraft serviceability and readiness.
  • Coordinate fleet line maintenance activities worldwide, working closely with engineers, handling agents, and flight crews.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering issues within the TUI Group, directing the resolution of any aircraft on ground (AOG) situations.
  • Liaise with Part M and OEMs on technical and airworthiness queries.
  • Monitor component removal history and invoke troubleshooting actions as necessary.
  • Use the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) to optimize maintenance planning.
  • Support the operation in a hands-on role as required.
  • Deputize for the MOC Duty Manager.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A CAA/EASA B1/B2 license.
  • Recognized aircraft engineering apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
  • Significant experience in AOG resolution, both hands-on and detailed recovery planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of AMOS, including maintenance planning functions and modification control.
  • A logical thinker with the ability to generate ideas, alternatives, and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to discuss and explain complex situations to all areas of the business.
  • Ability to make decisions based on operational risk with respect to flight delay compensation.
  • Strong organizational skills and sound office IT skills.
  • Willingness to support the operation at short notice, including overseas, when required.
