Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As the Salesforce DevOps Manager and Release Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with the Salesforce Lead Architect and Technical Lead to oversee the release management process, enhance automation, and optimize deployment pipelines while instilling DevOps best practices for the effective delivery of Salesforce solutions.
  • Oversee the release management lifecycle for Salesforce financial services applications, including Vlocity components, ensuring meticulous planning, scheduling, coordination, and deployment across various environments.
  • Design and implement a robust CI/CD pipeline and comprehensive SDLC to facilitate system development.
  • Engage with multiple project teams to ascertain release requirements and formulate release strategies utilizing Azure DevOps.
  • Monitor release pipelines and resolve any deployment-related issues, including environment configurations and integration challenges.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce developers and administrators to refine release management workflows, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Establish and manage version control protocols for Salesforce metadata and codebase, ensuring effective branching, merging, and code review processes.
  • Configure and sustain Azure DevOps to enable continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated deployment practices.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts and tools to enhance the efficiency of release processes.
  • Manage Sandbox refreshes, data seeding, and data/metadata backups in production environments.
  • Document releases in code archives, prepare and test installers, draft and distribute release notes, and ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed of new releases while effectively managing previous releases to avoid confusion.
  • Engage in hands-on Salesforce solution development, demonstrating expertise in both declarative configuration and programmatic development.
  • Conduct code reviews and approve technical designs and solutions as necessary.

  • Proven experience in a DevOps Lead or Release Manager role, or a similar capacity.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Azure DevOps or comparable Salesforce release management tools is essential.
  • Experience in establishing DevOps tools like Azure DevOps to create a CI/CD process and governance framework.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration, customization, and development principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DevOps methodologies, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
  • Solid familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools, and deployment automation frameworks.
  • Experience with deploying Vlocity components such as Omnistudio - Omniscripts, Flex Cards, Data Raptors, and Integration Procedures.
  • Background in Financial Service Cloud and Vlocity (Salesforce Industries).
  • Experience in Salesforce configuration and customization.
  • Familiarity with Scrum methodology and Agile practices.
  • Understanding of various partner products (AppExchange), particularly those relevant to the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated people management skills, with prior experience leading small deployment or development teams.
  • Ability to apply general organizational knowledge of business and systems processes in problem-solving scenarios.
  • Experience with backup tools, including OwnBackup.
  • Familiarity with AppExchange products.
