Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

As the Salesforce DevOps Manager and Release Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with the Salesforce Lead Architect and Technical Lead to oversee the release process, implement automation, and optimize deployment pipelines while promoting DevOps best practices for the efficient delivery of Salesforce solutions.
  • Oversee the release management process for Salesforce financial services applications, including Vlocity components, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, coordination, and deployment across various environments.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and comprehensive SDLC processes to facilitate system development.
  • Engage with multiple project teams to ascertain release requirements and formulate release plans utilizing Azure DevOps.
  • Monitor release pipelines and address any issues related to deployments, environment configurations, or integration failures.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce developers and administrators to enhance release management workflows, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Establish and manage version control strategies for Salesforce metadata and codebase, ensuring appropriate branching, merging, and code reviews.
  • Configure and maintain Azure DevOps to enable continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated deployments.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts and tools to optimize release processes and improve efficiency.
  • Manage Sandbox refreshes, data seeding, and data/metadata backups in production environments.
  • Document releases in code archives, prepare and test installers, draft and distribute release notes, and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are informed of new releases while managing previous releases to avoid confusion.
  • Engage in hands-on Salesforce solution development, demonstrating expertise in both declarative configuration and programmatic development.
  • Conduct code reviews and approve technical designs and solutions as necessary.
Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Lead and Release Coordinator, or in a similar capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or comparable Salesforce release management tools is essential.
  • Experience in establishing DevOps tools like Azure DevOps to create a CI/CD process and governance.
  • Strong proficiency in Salesforce configuration, customization, and development principles.
  • In-depth understanding of DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
  • Solid knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools, and deployment automation frameworks.
  • Experience in deploying Vlocity components such as Omnistudio - Omniscripts, Flex Cards, Data Raptors, and Integration Procedures.
  • Familiarity with Financial Service Cloud and Vlocity (Salesforce Industries).
  • Experience in Salesforce Configuration and customization.
  • Knowledge of Scrum methodology and Agile practices.
  • Understanding of various partner products (AppExchange), particularly those relevant to the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated people management skills, with prior experience leading small deployment or development teams.
  • Ability to apply organizational knowledge of business and systems processes in problem analysis.
  • Experience with backup tools, such as OwnBackup.
  • Familiarity with AppExchange products.
