Facilities Maintenance Operative

HOURLY RATE: £11.75 per hour

Permanent Position

WORKING HOURS: 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Early starts may be necessary.

We are dedicated to collaborating with our partners to ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained facilities by consistently exceeding expectations. We are in search of motivated and enthusiastic 'Facilities Maintenance Operatives' to join our Facilities Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Facilities Maintenance Operative, you will be tasked with performing minor general maintenance and support activities, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks across various locations.

Reporting to the Multi-Site Technician, you will receive appropriate training to develop the skills necessary to complete the following tasks (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Execute scheduled weekly and monthly maintenance tasks (such as fire alarm tests and water temperature checks).
  • Implement the weekly store defrost program.
  • Conduct minor repairs to building fabric.
  • Perform minor decorating duties.
  • Carry out minor plumbing repairs.
  • Address minor joinery tasks.
  • Complete various ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with our Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A diverse set of practical skills and experience in a trade, ensuring tasks are completed correctly and within designated timeframes.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with strong customer service skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, demonstrating self-motivation and effective workload management.
  • Basic IT skills are advantageous, including familiarity with tablets and software such as Word and Excel.
  • A valid UK driver's license is required for roles covering multiple locations.
  • Physical fitness is essential, as the role involves lifting heavy items and using ladders.
