Head of Facilities Management

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a Head of Facilities Management to oversee a healthcare contract in London. This pivotal role will encompass the comprehensive management of various functions including Maintenance, Compliance, Technical Services, and Sustainability initiatives within the engineering systems. We are looking for a seasoned, committed, and proactive professional with a background in Building, Engineering, and Maintenance Teams, preferably within a healthcare or PFI context, who can demonstrate substantial experience in estates and facilities management at a senior level.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engineering service frameworks and offerings in a large-scale healthcare setting, emphasizing innovation and service enhancement to ensure compliance and effective service delivery for Staff, Patients, and Visitors.
- Lead and manage the operational facilities provision, including oversight of managers, skilled tradespeople, and contractors, while providing assurance to the governing Board.
- Oversee significant financial allocations related to payroll, operational costs, utilities, and capital expenditures, while identifying and achieving sustainable efficiency and improvement goals.
- Act as a representative for the Facilities division at critical operational and strategic meetings, serving as a subject matter expert.
- Monitor the operational efficiency of the Facilities Department, ensuring strict adherence to National Safety Standards and Regulatory Procedures as outlined in relevant guidelines and legislation.
- Regularly assess maintenance task performance while supporting the ISO Quality Management system objectives. Additionally, ensure the availability of appropriate resources for the development of the Facilities staff training program to meet both current and future competencies necessary for achieving organizational goals.
- Provide tactical, strategic, and operational guidance to the Senior Leadership Team, Portfolio Holders, and relevant committees regarding estate services and functions.
- Support Strategic Objectives through External Partnerships.
- Oversee the senior management team, with a focus on performance, development, attendance, and health and safety compliance.
- Develop and execute the Facilities Plan in alignment with best practices in asset management.
- Implement a real-time operational delivery strategy that encompasses capital projects, minor works, repairs, maintenance, and estate management activities to support core service objectives.
- Qualified in an engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical); C&G, HNC, HND or higher (Highly desirable).
- Experience in service delivery across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties.
- Proven experience in managing a large engineering team.
- A strong track record in commercial building maintenance.
- Experience in healthcare or PFI environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a demanding workload.
